The North Carolina Poor People’s Campaign and several other nonprofit civil and voting rights groups joined an amicus brief filed by Forward Justice and the Southern Coalition for Social Justice on behalf of the voters targeted by Judge Griffin’s unlawful attempt to overturn his election loss.
This attempt to disenfranchise more than 60,000 voters, who are overwhelmingly Black and brown, is a continuation of an ongoing campaign by some elected officials to exclude certain people from our democracy when it best suits their political aims.
